Taniguchi Architects – Evan Taniguchi AIA, Austin, Texas – 2015 to 2018, Consultant Architect Provided construction administration services for classroom renovations and research lab finish-out projects at The University of Texas at Austin, Welch Hall, 56,000 s.f. renovation, and Norman Hackerman Building, 3,000 s.f. laboratory finish out. Coordinated submittal reviews, RFI’s, and weekly OAC meetings. Managed coordination with UT Office of Facility Planning and Construction, UT construction managers, associated engineers MEP, structural, and lab planning architects.


Code Next – LDC Rewrite, with Evan Taniguchi, and Peter Park, Opticos, Austin, Texas – assistance on 3d model illustrations for Planning-Zoning transect studies and graphics for Land Development Code documentation, preparation of draft reviews. Research on housing density increases through building types related to living unit count with various floor-to-area-ratio scenarios. Investigating restart and upcoming initiatives being developed by COA City Manager’s office as publicly available.


Delineate Studio – Bart Whatley AIA, Austin, Texas – 2017 to 2018, Consultant Architect Commercial office and mixed use retail project types involving Pre-design and Schematic Design services, including due diligence investigation, test fit design studies, code and regulatory compliance determinations, preliminary fire rating and egress system configurations. Construction administration services for 23,000 s.f. new social services office, including specification writing, submittal reviews, RFI’s, on site observation, weather-resistive-barrier cladding system design updates, and associated exterior opening detailing.


McClendon-Price House – with Bart Whatley and Richard Gift, Austin, Texas – exterior renovation and interior remodel of historic 1906 residence, 6,400 s.f., originally designed by architect Charles Page (Page Southerland Page). Structural remediation and stabilization of exterior load bearing brick masonry walls. HVAC, plumbing, and electrical systems completely removed and redone. Restoration of windows and doors for increased thermal performance, large front / side covered porches restored after reconfiguring stormwater drainage patterns and increasing crawlspace passive ventilation. Upper floor stairway to attic reconfigured to emphasize existing views of the nearby Texas State Capitol Building.


John Gaines Park Swim Center, Bath House, with Stanley Architects, Austin, Texas – Consultant coordination and construction documentation for architectural site cast concrete open-air bath houses, with central court, custom metal work fencing, and extensive green roof system. PV solar panel shade structure mounted on metal trellis structure for both cooling and supplemental electrical power.


South Central Waterfront – Framework Street Plan and Stakeholder Planning Sessions, Austin, Texas – provided 3d modeling using SketchUp during interactive design sessions with planners, architects, engineers, and City of Austin sta. Facilitated design charrette sessions for specific open recreational area studies, high density multifamily and mixed-use retail test schemes.


D.J. Simmons Corporate Offices, with William Freimuth Architecture, Farmington, New Mexico – Planning and Feasibility Study for 4.4 acre corporate campus, including building expansion schemes, parking analysis, and speculative office development scenarios. Remodel of existing 6,200 s.f. Office Building. Included new elevator, spiral stair, and curved focal wall graphics.


Santa Anna Duplex, Austin, Texas – new speculative infill project with two approximately 1,700 s.f. Units, incorporating indirect daylighting, courtyards, and flexible use exterior spaces. Portions of existing 1960’s era duplex structure incorporated for re-use.


Campus Master Plan JG Memorial Academy, Nairobi, Kenya – pro-bono work for school and orphanage project to document the existing 15 acre campus, with programming for new facilities and infrastructure. Advised organization on architectural and planning matters for new housing for 40 orphans, new 200 bed student dormitories, renovation and repurposing existing structures.


Brackenridge Residence, Austin, Texas – restarted project of a partially completed 6,100 s.f. home, with variances obtained for height and FAR non-compliance, to be re-permitted under new development compatibility regulations. Coordinated remedial structural repairs with interior planning. Upgraded mechanical systems, including supplemental dehumidification.


Meadowbrook Residence, Austin, Texas – new 4,600 s.f. home, with passive ventilation and daylighting clerestories. Energy conservation features include radiant in-floor heating, geothermal HVAC, and 20,000 gallon rainwater collection cistern.


Twin Liquors Marketplace, Hancock and Bee Caves Store Interiors, Austin, Texas – tenant finish-out planning and design documentation for two 15,000 s.f. retail stores, located within existing white box / shell storefronts.
